About Us

Bethany is the the eldest of the three Winter girls. All through high school she dated, or rather courted, Alex Vaughn who soon became like an older brother to Tori, Jameson and me. Bethany and Alex were married December 16, 2006. She is very crafty (not in the Harry Potter sense) and has completed many projects around her new house, including everything from paintings to curtains to painting furniture. On January 6, 2009 Bethany and Alex had their first child, Alexander "Sterling" Vaughn Jr. Before Sterfry was born Bethany was the children's minister at Trinity Presbyterian, however now she is a stay at home mom. Little Sterling is the star of our family as he is the only grandchild/nephew.

I, Hillary, am a typical middle child and was born in '88. In our
family that's like a double whamy. Like anyone who is a typical middle child, I think this is a role of honor-not everyone can handle being stuck in the middle. I love it. I like to say I add a little flavor to the family. Without me, I think the Winter clan would be a quiet bunch. Very early on I took it upon myself to correct this problem, this has been quite a success. I'm an all or nothing kind of person and very passionate about things that I love. I am the videographer and photographer of the family. I enjoy everything from shooting to producing. Besides vidography one of my favorite pastimes is reading, especially fiction. I like to collect books and Barnes and Noble is with a doubt my favorite store and a drug of choice. I have recently been on a literature kick and have discovered that there actually is a reason teachers try to make you read those books in high school.

Tori is the youngest, but definitely does not live in the shadow of two older sisters. In fact, she often reminds us how hard it is living in her shadow. ;) She marches to the beat of her own drum, but not in the weird quirky way that that statement sometimes implies. For example: during the BCS National Championship game she was torn between cheering for Bama and Texas (let me take this opportunity to clarify: we love Texas and have Texas pride along with every other Texas native, however we have always been hardcore Alabama Football fans, Tori was threatened with excommunication for this;). Tori has a love for fashion and always knows what's in style. She is who we go to when we have a question about what to wear and if something is "VG" approved. She loves sewing and almost every time I'm home there is a new dress on her mannequin. Like most youngest girls she grew up as "Daddy's Little Girl."

Mom is a native Texan. She was born and raised in Texas and is proud of it. We get that from her. However, she loves Alabama too. Mom was a stay at home mom throughout our childhood. When we were in high school she started working at a "local upscale gift shop" here in town. Mom was never one we feared going to for advice. In fact, our closest friends often go to her for advice and wisdom as well. This was because she didn't beat around the bush or avoid topics. She was also never a mom who ignored the things we did. She was very much a part of our lives, and was never scared to be the disciplinarian instead of the friend. My siblings and I, though we were not always grateful then, are incredibly grateful now for this. Because of this both of our parents are respected by not only us, but our friends as well. More than once I have come home from Tuscaloosa and have found one of our friends over at our house seeking advice, or either waiting for us to get home so they could come. Mom loves photography as well. Her favorite subject right now is, of course, Sterfry. His first year has been documented well.

When we're all home we are almost always found in mom's room hanging out with her, laughing or seeking advise. We want this blog to reflect this as it is one of our favorite places to be. So grab a seat and welcome to the family.
